The Parkdale Resident Association (PRA) is conducting a survey of the City’s proposed development of properties at Queen St. West and Cowan Ave. (Library, Community Centre, Park, 1313 and parking lot). We are asking our PRA neighbours (YOU) for their input to help us together (re)-imagine what is the future potential of this site.

CNE at Aurora Winter Fair in Ontario Place – to Dec. 30

The Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) is pleased to be a partner in the presentation of the Aurora Winter Festival Toronto, an exciting new holiday experience taking place at Ontario Place now until Sunday, Dec. 30. Click HERE for more info.

The 24-day festival, is the first of its kind in the Toronto market and features enchanting elements inspired by the North Pole including magical characters, captivating light displays, endless fun, games and activities.

The Aurora Winter Festival is a paid event with admission fees of $19.99 / $14.99 on the West Island. Also happening at Ontario Place is Winter Lights which is FREE at the East Island.

Pia Bouman School NUTCRACKER – Dec. 14-15-16

This is a Parkdale tradition now in its 33rd year. Join us in welcoming the Holiday Season with an afternoon or evening full of dance and wonderful magic, at Toronto’s longest-running and most family-friendly Nutcracker.

UHN Lakeside Long-Term Care Development @ 150 Dunn Ave – Dec. 12

University Health Network (UHN) – Toronto Rehab, will be holding an Open House and
Pre-application meeting to discuss with the community their proposed plans for expanding the Lakeside Long Term Care Centre at 150 Dunn Avenue.

UHN is aiming for construction to begin during the summer of 2020, and be completed in the fall of 2022. But, before construction would start, they need to go through an approvals process with the City. They intend to submit an application to the City early in 2019.

Councillor Perks and City Planning staff will be in attendance. If you
are unable to attend the meeting and are interested in providing comment
and/or receiving more detailed information, please email Councillor Perks

Green Parkdale is delivering this project in the Parkdale area, along with Greenest City, a registered charity organization rooted in the Parkdale neighbourhood that is dedicated to connecting people with the environment and community.

Ontario Place‘s FREE winter programming opened yesterday, November 23, on the West Island. Will this be the last time free and publicly accessible events happen here for all to enjoy on our waterfront?
