You are invited to a Community BBQ on Saturday, from 12 PM to 3 PM, at the Milky Way Garden (behind the Parkdale Library). It’s a great chance to chat about everything that’s going on in the community of late!!

The City will host a Community Consultation Meeting on the proposed West Queen West HCD Plan on September 10, 2024, from 6 to 8 pm at The Theatre Centre (1115 Queen Street West).

There is a growing trend of renovictions in Toronto, where a landlord illegitimately evicts a tenant by alleging that tenants need to leave the unit for the landlord to undertake renovations or repairs. The City of Toronto is developing a new bylaw to prevent bad-faith evictions and help maintain affordable homes for Toronto’s residents.

We want to hear from tenants, landlords, the organizations that support them and the public before finalizing the renovictions bylaw. This will help us protect tenants and ensure landlords understand how to follow the new rules. The City will report back with a proposed bylaw by October 30.

Parkdale’s first Music Crawl is a day-long, night-long event of all music styles meant to reinvigorate and remind folks that Parkdale is a place of the arts and music. Pick and choose from a variety of local musical acts from classical to techno DJs, in over 15 venues along Queen West in Parkdale. Celebrate the Parkdale Caribbean Food Festival & Sidewalk Sale on Sunday, August 4th from 12 Noon to 8:00 PM at the Green P Lot at Queen St. W. and Callender St. (in honour of Michelle Davis).

The Sidewalk Sale will be all along Queen Street from Dufferin to Roncesvalles. Feast on great Caribbean food, listen to live music and purchase great stuff from local merchants.

This season the Market will be run on Wednesdays from July 10 to August 28 from 3 to 7 p.m. in Masaryk Park.

This summer at the Community Food Market you can expect fresh, local produce at low-cost prices and local food vendors such as Sonam’s Momos, Rahma’s Samosas, and other baked goods. There will be a wide variety of local vendors and artisans selling beauty products, candles, art, and much more! You can also explore the services offered by local partners and community outreach initiatives at tables hosted by local Parkdale organizations.

Urban Beekeeping is back at Exhibition Place, an interactive beekeeping experience with the hives on the roof of Enercare Centre.

Exhibition Place is pleased to be working with Toronto Bee Rescue to bring this educational and fun workshop to the residents of Parkdale and Toronto.

Join this two hours of hands-on fun, which includes a honey harvest experience inside Enercare Centre with uncapping and spinning frames, filtering honey, and bottling your very own jars!
