In general, residents report being well served by the Toronto Police Service. Still, the PRA has found that it pays to put some effort into building relationships and keeping the lines of communication open with the police.
Community Police Liaison Committees
The PRA is actively involved in the Community Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) for 14 and 11 Divisions. These divisions work closely together to serve Parkdale and its surrounding neighbourhoods. The CPLC meetings provide a monthly forum for community representatives to meet with command and front-line officers to discuss issues, policing operations, strategies and results. Meetings are open to the public and are listed in the Upcoming Events section on the home page of this website. Meeting locations are generally at the local division station but sometimes are held within the community. Contact the PRA or the Toronto Police Service to get involved.
