FAQ - Dada mass mailer administration
The PRA started out using the 'Mailman' application for mailing list functions, but due to over-zealous spam restrictions on the part of our ISP we had to switch to Dada Mail for our larger lists because this package is able to send out mail slowly over a longer time period. It also does a better job of tracking member names, addresses, phone numbers, etc.
Here are some hints for using Dada Mail:
Q: What are the pertinent links to our installation?
You can send mail through the admin login, left side near the top, click, 'Send a List Message'. Or if the list has an bridge e-mail configured you can just send mail through your regular e-mail client: e.g. Affiliates@Parkdale.TO or Members@Parkdale.TO.
Q: How do I add, edit or remove new members on the Affiliates or Members list?
Go to the admin. login page and click on one of the options under 'Manage Subscribers' on the left side menu.
Q: What about creating new lists?
Mailman still works just fine for lists of under 40 people, so we'll add new lists there for now.
